Echinops ritro, commonly known as Globe Thistle, is a striking, architectural perennial with sturdy stems and distinctive steel-blue spherical flower heads that bloom throughout summer and early autumn. This sun-loving plant adds strong structure and contrast to borders and is perfect for prairie-style or contemporary gardens. Echinops ritro is highly drought-tolerant, low-maintenance and very attractive to bees and butterflies. Its flowers are also excellent for cutting and drying, making it a versatile garden favourite.
