Bergenia cordifolia, often called Elephant's Ears or Pigsqueak, is a tough evergreen perennial with large, glossy, rounded leaves and sprays of pink flowers in spring. It is a dependable choice for shady or awkward spots.
- Pack: 24 young plants in 11cm pots, about 15-25cm tall as supplied
- Flowers: pink bell-shaped flowers on stout stems in spring
- Foliage: large, leathery evergreen leaves that can take on bronze tints in cold weather
- Light: partial shade to shade; also grows in sun
- Use: ground cover, path edging and under shrubs
Plant in spring or autumn in any reasonably drained soil, spacing the plants so the leaves overlap into a weed-suppressing carpet. Remove tatty leaves in spring and divide congested clumps every few years.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
