Photinia (Photinia x fraseri) is a glossy evergreen whose new growth flushes bright red, which makes it a favourite for a hedge with colour. This range includes Red Robin, the compact Little Red Robin and Carré Rouge, from packs of young plants to 50cm plants in 17cm pots. Free tracked delivery to Ireland and 24 more EU countries.

| Variety | Character | Spacing |
|---|---|---|
| 'Red Robin' | The familiar upright form with vivid red tips | 2 to 3 per metre |
| 'Little Red Robin' | A more compact habit for lower hedges | 2 to 3 per metre |
| 'Carré Rouge' | Red new growth on glossy dark leaves | 2 to 3 per metre |
Packs of 24 and 40 are young plants in 9cm pots, 25 to 35cm tall; the 6-packs are larger plants in 17cm pots at 50 to 55cm.
Planting and trimming
Photinia prefers sun to part shade and free-draining soil. Clipping after a flush of growth encourages fresh red shoots, and young red growth can be marked by hard frost. Planted as a mid-height hedge it typically sits between 1 and 2m. Every pack is young plants in pots, shipped directly from our partner growers, so allow a few seasons for a hedge to knit together and water through the first two summers.
