40x Photinia fraseri 'Carre Rouge' - Evergreen Red-Tipped Hedging - 9cm Pot - 25-35cm

Photinia × fraseri 'Carré Rouge' is the red-tipped hedge you have seen and probably wanted. Each flush of new growth opens a deep glossy red and matures to dark green, so a clipped hedge carries two colours at once — and clipping simply triggers more red.

Why it works in cooler northern European gardens

• Colour without flowers — the red comes from foliage, so it returns with every flush rather than lasting a fortnight.
• Dense screening — close branching gives real privacy and cuts wind and road noise.
• Spring flowers for pollinators — clusters of small white flowers in spring, lightly scented, worked by bees.
• Weather-hardy — it copes with cold winters and warm summers alike.
• Holds its shape — it stays presentable even if a year's clip gets missed.

Planting

Supplied as 40 plants in 9cm pots, 25–35cm tall. Plant 3–4 per metre. Prune after the first flush in late spring to drive a second flush of red growth. Give it free-draining ground — like most Mediterranean-origin shrubs it dislikes sitting wet through a mild, damp winter.

Free delivery across Ireland and 24 more EU countries, typically in 5–8 working days. Delivery times are estimates and subject to change.
