Fargesia rufa, often called Green Panda bamboo, is a compact, clump-forming bamboo with fine, arching canes and evergreen leaves. This pack of 24 young plants is suited to building a soft, rustling screen or filling a long border over a few seasons.
- Evergreen foliage on slender, arching canes
- Clump-forming habit, so it expands steadily rather than running
- Pack of 24 plants in 13cm pots, around 25cm tall
- Grows to roughly two metres over time
- Does well in sun or partial shade, out of strong wind
- Useful for screening, informal hedging and large containers
Plant in moist, well-drained soil with plenty of compost, spacing plants about 60cm apart for a screen. Water regularly through the first couple of summers and mulch to hold moisture. Young plants take a few years to knit together into a dense screen.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
