Molinia arundinacea 'Karl Foerster' is a graceful purple moor grass with a neat mound of green leaves topped by tall, slender flower stems that sway in the breeze. It adds height without heaviness to the border.

Plant in moist but free-draining soil in sun or light shade, and keep young plants watered while they establish. It dislikes being disturbed once settled, so choose its position with care. Leave the dried stems standing for winter interest and cut back in early spring.
