Thymus praecox 'Red Carpet' is a low, spreading creeping thyme with tiny aromatic leaves and a generous covering of red-pink flowers. It makes an attractive living carpet beside paths, in rock gardens and between stones.
- Masses of small red-pink flowers from late spring into summer
- Tiny, aromatic evergreen leaves
- Pack of 24 young plants in 11cm pots, 15-25cm tall as supplied
- Creeping, ground-hugging habit
- Prefers full sun and free-draining soil
- Flowers are visited by bees and other insects
Plant in full sun in light, free-draining soil, mixing in some grit if your ground is heavy. Space plants about 20-25cm apart so they knit together into a carpet. Water young plants until established, then trim lightly after flowering to keep the mat dense and tidy.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
