Ilex crenata 'Convexa' is a compact evergreen shrub often used as a box alternative. Its small, glossy, dark green leaves are not spiny, and its dense branching suits low formal hedges and neat borders.
- Foliage: small, rounded, glossy dark green leaves, evergreen
- Dense, compact habit that clips well into low hedges and shapes
- Supplied as 40 plants in 9cm pots, 20-30cm tall
- Sun or partial shade
- Suits low hedging, edging and containers
Plant in moist, well-drained soil and water regularly through the first summer. Space about 25-30cm apart for a low hedge. Trim once or twice a year during the growing season. Mulching with compost or bark helps keep the roots cool and damp.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
