Leyland cypress (x Cuprocyparis leylandii) is a very fast-growing evergreen conifer with dense, dark green, scale-like foliage. It is chosen for tall screens and shelter hedges where quick cover matters.
- Foliage: dense, dark green, scale-like sprays, evergreen
- Very vigorous growth that forms a solid screen
- Supplied as 40 plants in 9cm pots, 30-40cm tall
- Full sun or partial shade
- Suits tall screening and shelter planting
Plant in well-drained soil and water regularly through the first two summers. Space about 60-90cm apart for a hedge. Leyland cypress grows large if left alone, so plan to trim it two or three times a year from the start, and avoid cutting back into old bare wood as it rarely regrows.
Supplied as young plants in growing pots, shipped directly from our partner growers. Plants are living products, so size and shape can vary slightly from the photo.
